Safer than epoxy thermal adhesive with similar cooling ability. Careful and appropriate removable will not damage expensive components.

Note: Once applied removal of the heatsink/s may not come easily. As always, measure twice and apply only once.

This product is known by other names like - frag tape - & - gap tape - they are the same thing.

DO NOT CONFUSE THIS TAPE WITH "THERMAL PAD / GAP FILLER" WHICH ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT PRODUCTS! (Check out my other auctions for those products.)

This tape is great if you want to tape a heatsink to your motherboard chipsets, RAM or video card memory to cool it down. Using this method is better than thermal epoxy because it does not create a permanent bonding so you can remove the heatsinks at a later time. NOTE: if you use a mechanical clamp to fix the heatsink do not exceed a pressure of 50PSI, as this will cause the tape to bleed out.

This thermal tape cannot be used on a CPU/GPU.

If you use this tape on a CPU/GPU, you will fry it. 

If you need thermal protection for your CPU/GPU do NOT use this product, use an alternative CPU/GPU -preferred thermal compound.

Some frequently asked questions & replies;-

• Q. "Can I use this tape to attach "XYZ" cooler to my Northbridge chip?".
• A. I ALWAYS recommend that if your motherboard & cooler have compatible mechanical clips, you should use them and a suitable thermal paste. I do NOT recommend using this tape with a mechanical fixing that exerts more than 50 PSI, as stated in the main description. Where mechanical fixing is not possible, this tape has sucessfully been used to attach Northbridge coolers weighing approx 50g. In fact one such Northbridge cooler is supplied with Sekisui #5760 tape as standard.
• Q. "Can I use this tape to attach a temperature probe to my heatsink?"
• A. As long as the temperature probe & tape do NOT interfere with the normal mechanical fixing of the heatsink, then yes. (I use it to monitor the heatsink temperature of my passively-cooled graphics card in my workshop during testing of other components like new motherboard/CPU/etc.
• Q. "Can I use this tape to attach heatsinks to my graphics card/motherboard RAM?"
• A. Yes. In fact most people who have purchased this product use it for this purpose. Obviously, the RAM heatsinks must be suitable (not 500 gram monsters with a 3mmx3mm footprint!!!). One major graphics card repair shop decided that this tape worked so well, mechanically AND thermally, that they abandoned the use of thermal epoxy in favour of this tape, thus saving them valuable time and effort in their business.
• Q. "Help! after attaching this tape to my RAM heatsinks they feel warm!"
• A. Warm is OK - hot is not OK. Think about it - if your RAM heatsinks are warm then they (and the tape) are doing the job. If your RAM heatsinks are hot, they (and the tape) are doing the job BUT the RAM chips are probably generating excessive heat - this is a sign of bigger problems and you should seek advice from the manufacturer of the RAM chips & the device that they are on.
