WELCOME TO LINDO LTD'S ONLINE SHOP!
With a design that focuses
on traditional guitar playing but with killer Lindo looks, this steel-strung dreadnought
electro-acoustic guitar really stands out from the crowd.
Pick-up/Pre-Amp
Just like our other electro
acoustic guitars, you can plug this one into an amplifier via the standard jack
plug socket and create your own personal sound using the 4-band pre-amp/EQ
dials.
The pick-up is cleverly hidden under the bridge saddle and is known as a piezoelectric pick-up (for any newbies out there!). When you pluck a string, the vibrations are transferred through the saddle and received by the pick-up; which is then processed by the pre-amp before sending the signal to the amplifier via the guitar lead. It’s very effective and has the benefit of not picking up any magnetic fields such as mains hum or feedback.
EQ
This particular pre-amp/EQ unit has a volume control, presence, treble, middle and bass and also features a ‘phase’ button. The phase button is quite subtle when introduced, but adds an element of warmth to the tonal quality (a bit like reverb).
Sound & Construction
As these guitars are 41
inches in length with a bigger body than our cutaway or slim guitars, its
acoustic values are extremely good; producing a very bright well rounded sound.
As a guitar maker, we feel
very strongly that our guitars should not only look and sound good but be
solidly constructed as well.
Neck & Fingerboard:
Every guitar neck has a two
way metal truss rod in its core, which gives it strength as well as the option
to use an Allen key to adjust the bow of the neck.
We use maple wood for the
neck and rosewood for the fingerboard. Maple is known as a ‘tonewood’, or a
wood that carries sound waves very well and is also ideal for guitar necks due
to its rigidity.
Rosewood is a soft, smooth and naturally oilier wood, making it ideal for contact with fingers. Both woods are selected for their beneficially known properties which make guitar playing as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.
The fret inlays are made from a pearloid material and hand-crafted into the rosewood fingerboard for a stunning effect.
Nut:
Over the years, we have
become known for our use of an adjustable locking nut which we transcribed from
electric guitar playing for its functionality. But with this new guitar model,
to maintain its traditional values, it is fitted with a toughened plastic nut.
Body:
As well as an intricate
internal bracing structure and ribbing on the top (soundboard) and back, the
body of the guitar is bound with a white/cream strengthening rib/purfling to
add stability to its shape.
This gives the guitar a very
clean edge and superb styling, something you won’t see on cheaper made guitars.
We use basswood or Tilia (as
it’s also known) for the top, sides and back due to its proven acoustic
qualities, hence being widely incorporated in acoustic guitar production.
Heel/Neck Joint:
We have now introduced an
extra strap pin which is fitted to the underside of the heel. Although many
acoustic guitarists tie the other end of their strap around the headstock, many
of you budding guitarists expected to see a second strap pin on other guitars
we sell-so we listened and now you’ve got one!
This works equally well in positioning the guitar for ‘stand-up’ playing, ensuring an even distribution of weight and a firm connection between strap and guitar.
Headstock:
A new headstock design
really finishes this guitar off nicely. Akin to the body and neck, the
headstock purfling solidifies the construction and enhances the curves of the
wood.
The reflective ‘Lindo’ logo
is lasered underneath the gloss paintwork and adds a very modern touch to the
guitar’s styling.
The die-cast machine heads/tuning pegs are built to a very high standard in that they are lockable, covered gear mechanisms, which means they hold the string tension and tune very well. The tuning peg consists of two main parts; the main part is screwed from the back so that the tuning pole pokes through; this is then secured with a threaded bolt, washer and nut for a very tight, reliable fixture.
