A little Shelley Dainty HOT WATER JUG - NEWHAVEN crest

This tiny little hot water jug was produced by the Shelley factory sometime between 1910 and  1925 as it has the old Shelley "shield" backstamp on the base used during that period. It was obviously produced as a souvenir item as it bears the crest of Newhaven which is a seaside town in Sussex, Englandns. It is of course Dainty shape and is a hot water jug rather than a coffee pot.  

The Dainty shape was actually introduced by Wileman in 1896. It was designed for them by Rowland Morris and the shape continued in production right through until the Shelley factory closed in 1966. 
 

The pot is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. There is no damage to the lid or the recess into which it fits and no damage to the spout. The gilding is almost 100% intact both round the top and on the handle. The hand enamelled colours of the crest and the printing are totally intact.  
There is some VERY SLIGHT yellowing to the pot but this needs to be looked for and I have mentioned it purely for the sake of total accuracy.       

Measurements

It is just under 6 inches(15cm) high including the handle on top of the lid. It measures around 4.5 inches (11.5cm) from the tip of the spout to the outer edge of the handle.
