"Version III of this book contains the tablature for 41 folk tunes, written for the 5-string banjo. They are arranged in a style similar to melodic bluegrass, in that, as far as possible, the same string is not plucked for two adjacent notes, and the same nger is not used to pluck two adjacent notes. However, the arrangements differ from melodic bluegrass in that they only represent the raw melody, and do not contain the long rolls that characterise bluegrass music. I leave the inclusion of bluegrass licks and other forms of ornamentation to the ingenuity of the reader..."
