LARGE VICTORIAN ANTIQUE CHESTNUT ROASTER - BRASS WITH COPPER RIVETS c1800

A superb piece of history. This is the more unusual square pan chestnut roaster. Clearly well used and heat marked to the base giving lovely patination. Brass construction with copper rivets to the handle. A small crack at the back of the base plate (see pic with rivets). A few knocks here and there from use during the past 100 or so years. A great piece.
 
Approximately 21 inches long. The box measures 5 1/2 inches square and 2 inches deep.
