A fantastic and very useful product in the world of mould making, casting and impressions as well as a host of uses:

You get quite a lot for your money. A 100g bag will make a solid sausage of Nylon like plastic about 6 inches long and 1 inch in diameter.

Its also very strong! The tensile strength of this material is 580kg/cm sq! Yet it can be easily sanded, routed, cut, planed, CNC Milled. You just have to be careful not to raise the temperature to high! It will melt at around 60 Celsius.

So simple to use, heres the instructions:

  • Measure out a quantity of Granules
  • Boil Your Kettle
  • Pop the granules into a glass beaker
  • Tip the boiling water onto the granules
  • Wait for them to go clear and begin to fuse
  • Hook them out with the back end of a paintbrush or similar
  • When cool enough squeeze together
  • Ensure all the water is driven out
  • Mould into shape or take impression
  • Allow to cool until opaque white - about 10 mins
  • If you are impatient pop it into cool water to rapidly set
  • Use your new part or mould!!

This material is biodegradable so when finished you can throw away your item without fear of adding to the plastic mountain in landfill!

We have been supplying mould making, casting and modeling compounds for years and this is one super useful product to have in the drawer. It has no real shelf life, just keep it cool and use it again and again.

Subsequent melts will take longer unless you cut up the cast piece!
