We would like to offer for your consideration this 

Very pretty glass dish

This is a lovely piece of commemorative glass

The dish is a souvenir made and sold to celebrate the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge

A very important dish for the people of Australia marking an end to the many years of construction

  The curved bridge design dominated the skyline for many years and was a focus of the souvenirs produced when it finally did open

This lovely commemorative bon bon dish (possibly made by Crown Glass Company) measures approx 3" high x 5½" across

Made of clear coloured glass it has a textured finish to look like the water, pointed finish to all the edge and the handle in the shape of the Sydney Harbour bridge

The design of the dish features pressed designs of ferries, the Norfolk Pine and Eucalyptus trees

It also features buildings that feature along the shore line of Sydney harbour and the centre has an image of an Ocean liner with smaller tugs around the base

It bears the embossed words "Sydney Harbour Bridge, Opened March 19th 1932"

It is in very good condition with the only flaw being a couple of minor nibbles around the edge a small piece of damage on the edge of the dish where two of the edge points are missing and a small chip (more of a slice) is next to this

But as you can see it certainly does not detract from this rare and very important commemorative
