Ferrofluid magnetic liquid - use with neodymium magnets


Description

The item for sale is one 30g bottle of Ferrofluid. This fascinating product is a liquid which responds to magnetic fields. Normally just a black oily liquid, when placed near a magnet, ferrofluid will leap onto a magnet, arranging itself into spikes as seen in the picture. Many people think the fluid sets into the spiky shapes, but no. If you touch the spikes you can feel that they are still liquid.

Ferrofluid was developed years ago by NASA as a means of controlling liquids in zero gravity but the fluid is finding use as an artistic medium, where controlled by magnets fascinating liquid sculptures can be made, either still or moving in response to variable magnetic fields.
