Nutritional Information
Ingredients: Pure whey protein isolate, soy lecithin (for improved mixability). Manufactured packaged in Australia.
Pure Nutrition's Whey Protein Isolate (WPI) is an agglomerated and instantised protein derived from sweet dairy
whey manufactured by a special cross-flow filtration process and isolated via a patented fractionation
process. This exclusive process captures the whey proteins in their native state and avoids
denaturation retaining all the important peptides found in WPC, while delivering an extremely high level of protein
(90%+) with virtually no fat or lactose.
Due to its very low carbohydrate, lactose & fat levels WPI is the ideal protein for bodybuilders wanting to pack on
lean muscle without adding any unwanted fat, those on calorie controlled diets and male or females who want to
increase their daily protein intake.
Note that whey protein is regarded as the best protein due to the fact that it has the highest Biological Value (BV) and protein efficiency ratio (PER) of all available proteins (including soy protein, egg protein, milk protein etc).
Suggested Use: Mix 30g with 300ml of cold water, skim milk or your favourite beverage. Consume 1-3 servings daily or use
as recommended by a physician or licensed nutritionist.

About Pure Nutrition
Company Philosophy
Pure Nutrition aims to provide the
highest quality, most
cost effective and purest health supplements to the Australian market.
So what makes Pure Nutrition products so unique?
Because Pure Nutrition's philosophy is based on providing pure products, you as the consumer reap multiple benefits.
What are they? you might ask, Here is a summary;
-
All products are in their pure form [Knowledge]
Since all our products are in their pure form you know EXACTLY what you are buying and what it contains.
This is in contrast to most other commercially available health products where it is often difficult to work out what
ingredients are present and in which particular quantities, due to nutritional panel information not listing
quantities of the individual ingredients.
-
All products are unflavoured [Flexibility]
Our unflavoured products give you absolute flexibility in how you will eventually use them and what they
will taste like. For example, not only can you make a different flavoured protein shake every day of the week, you can also
add protein to many meals without detracting from the flavours of the other ingredients.
-
You pay for what you actually desire [Cost effective]
You pay solely for the product which you are after, no unwanted preservatives, flavours or cheap fillers.
Don't be fooled by products which add cheaper ingredients such as vitamins or new "buzz" supplements in very small
trace quantities just to get your attention and subsequently rip you off at the cash register. For example, in a protein
powder product, the protein powder itself is the most expensive ingredient nothing else.
If you would like to know more about the Pure Nutrition brand, you can view their
website or alternatively send us a question and it will be answered promptly.

FAQ
About Protein
About Whey Protein
About Pure Nutrition's WPC
About Special Dietary Concerns
Q: Why would I need protein?
Protein is an important nutrient needed by everyone on a daily basis. It is made up of essential and non-essential amino acids,
which are the "building blocks" for healthy bodies. Protein has a number of different roles in the body including the following:
- Building and repairing muscles and bones
- Repairing body cells
- Providing a source of energy
- Control of many of the important processes in the body related to metabolism
Further, athletes and individuals who follow a regular exercise or gym regime require more protein in their diet,
often as much as twice the recommended daily allowance.
return to questions
Q: How are essential and non-essential amino acids different?
The body is able to make non-essential amino acids from other amino acids in the body. However, the body is not able to make essential
amino acids and the only way to get them is by eating high quality protein foods. Protein sources that contain all of the essential
amino acids are called complete proteins. Whey protein is a complete protein.
return to questions
Q: How much protein does a person need each day?
Protein needs vary from person to person depending upon age, weight, sex, activity level and overall health.
Athletes and individuals who follow a regular exercise or gym routine often require more protein than the recommended dietary
allowance, or RDA.
To help estimate your individual protein needs, a rough guideline has been outlined below.
| Activity Level |
Grams of Protein Per Kg of Body Weight Per Day |
| Current RDA for Inactive Adult |
0.88 |
| Recreational Adult Exerciser |
1.1 - 1.65 |
| Adult Competitive Athlete |
1.32 - 1.98 |
| Growing Teenage Athlete |
1.76 - 1.98 |
| Adult Building Muscle Mass |
1.54 - 1.98 |
| Athlete, Restricting Calories |
1.76 - 1.98 |
| Maximum Usable Amount for Adults |
1.98 |
Protein needs vary from person to person so you might need to adjust these figures to cater for your unique situation.

Q: What is whey protein?
Whey protein is a high quality protein powder extracted from cow's milk.
Milk has two proteins: Casein (approximately 80%) and Whey
Protein (approximately 20%). Whey protein is more soluble than casein and also has a higher quality rating.
It is often referred to as the "Gold Standard" of protein as it is the most nutritious protein available.
Whey protein is not something new and has been available for hundreds of years to individuals who valued the role of a
nutritious diet in achieving optimal health. During the last 15-20 years however, the value of whey protein has become more widely known,
especially in the area of sports nutrition and weight management.
More recently, whey protein has been singled out as a super-star ingredient among products formulated
for muscle and strength gains, weight loss, infant nutrition and immune support.

Q: How does whey protein compare to other types of proteins?
Protein foods are not equal and can vary in a number of ways including the following:
- Number and quantity of essential amino acids
- Digestion and absorption rates
- Fat content
- Taste
- Purity
Whey protein is a very high quality complete protein with rich amounts of all the essential amino acids, which is absorbed quickly
and contains very little fat. What more could you ask for in a protein?? Not much.
Below is a table listing various protein sources and their protein quality scores. As you will see, all of the commonly used protein
quality-scoring methods show whey protein to be an excellent, high quality source of protein.

Q: How does whey protein compare to soy protein?
Here are some of the differences between whey protein and soy protein.
- Whey protein is a nutritionally complete protein. It contains bioactive ingredients, like immunoglobulins and lactoferrin,
that help support the immune system.
- Athletes prefer whey protein to soy protein due to its rich abundance of branched chain amino acids and its quick absorption
rate. These are important to help repair and rebuild muscles after a workout or competitive event.
- Whey protein has a fresh, neutral taste and will not change the taste of foods you add it to.
return to questions
Q: What are the side effects of taking whey protein?
There are no documented side effects provided a person does not have an allergy to dairy proteins or does not need to restrict dairy
products for medical reasons. If you are allergic to dairy proteins please consult with a physician prior to consuming any type of
Pure Nutrition whey protein.
return to questions
Q: I eat a lot of fish, chicken, eggs, soy or beef. Why do I still need whey protein powders?
If your achieving your required protein intake and are able to do so day in day out while maintaining adequate fat levels then you probably don't.
However, for most individuals this is not the case so their diets benefit from including high quality, low fat sources of protein, like Pure
Nutrition's whey protein.
Calories do count and you want to make sure that you are getting the most benefit from the calories you consume.
Compared to other proteins, on a gram-to-gram basis whey protein delivers more essential amino acids to the body but without the fat or cholesterol.
Further, everyone has experienced moments where there isn't enough time to prepare a meal with the right amount of protein, the essential ingredients
are not on hand or frozen. In times like these even for the most disciplined, what could be easier than making a Pure Nutrition whey protein shake
to get your required protein content for that meal?
return to questions
Q: How are Pure Nutrition's protein powders different than other whey protein products on the market?
Purity and quality! Pure Nutrition's whey protein powders are the purest and highest quality protein powders available.
Unlike many other protein products, they do not
contain any protein blends, which often include lesser quality proteins such as gelatin. In addition, they do not contain any
unnecessary fillers or preservatives.

maximum control and flexibility. Unflavoured also means you can add protein powder to many other foods, check out our
recipes section for some great ideas.

return to questions
Q: What is the best time to consume Pure Nutrition's protein powder?
Protein should form a part of all of your meals and it is very important to the function of your body and overall health.
Further, if you are trying to gain muscle or improve strength the body will be unable to repair itself or grow without the
necessary amounts of protein.
If in any particular meal you believe you are not getting enough protein, Pure Nutrition's whey proteins can assist in improving this situation.
The
recipes section contains some ways of adding protein to regular foods.
Another approach many people utilise, is to make a whey protein beverage or smoothie as a mid-morning or mid-afternoon energy snack
to achieve their recommended daily protein requirements. See the following
question
for a rough guide of what your daily protein requirements are.
For those of you who exercise or train, recent research shows that it’s best to consume whey protein two hours before exercising and within two hours or
less after exercising. This is the time when the body needs protein the most.
return to questions
Q: Are Pure Nutrition's protein powders good for athletes and people who exercise?
Pure Nutrition's proteins powders are pure, high quality complete proteins with all the essential amino acids. Whey protein is also the richest known source
of the naturally occurring branched chain amino acids (leucine, isoleucine and valine). These are very important for bodybuilders, active individuals,
individuals who exercise regularly and professional athletes.
The body requires higher amounts of branched chain amino acids during and
following exercise as they are taken up directly by the skeletal muscles instead of first being metabolised through the liver like
other amino acids. Low BCAA levels contribute to fatigue and they should be replaced in one-hour or less following exercise or
participation in a competitive event. Many athletes consume a whey protein beverage both before and immediately after exercise or
an event to help repair and rebuild lean muscle tissue and prevent further fatigue.
Pure Nutrition's protein powders also enhances the production of 'glutathione', one of the body’s natural anti-oxidants. During times of stress,
including exercise, a decrease in 'glutathione' levels often occurs. Pure Nutrition's whey protein helps maintain adequate 'glutathione' levels to
aid the immune system and increase muscle stamina.
return to questions
Q: Are Pure Nutrition's protein powders easy to digest?
Pure Nutrition's whey proteins are soluble, very easy to digest proteins. They quickly enter the body to provide the important essential amino acids
needed to nourish muscles and other body tissues.
return to questions
Q: Can I prepare a Pure Nutrition whey protein beverage in the morning and then drink it throughout the day?
Yes, as long as you make sure to keep the beverage refrigerated and that you consume it within 24 hours. You may notice some
settling in the bottom of the container, this is normal and does not affect the quality of the protein. All you need to
do is re-mix the beverage with a spoon or shake the container right before you drink it.
return to questions
Q: Are Pure Nutrition's protein powders compatible with a low-carbohydrate diet?
Yes. Pure Nutrition's protein powders are not only compatible with low-carbohydrate diets, they are an ideal choice. Be sure to select the whey protein isolate which provides high quality protein with a lower amount of carbohydrates and fat than this whey protein concentrate product.
return to questions
Q: Will Pure Nutrition's protein powders help me lose weight?
Adding Pure Nutrition's whey protein to the diet is a great way to jump-start a weight loss program.
Whey protein is a key ingredient in numerous weight
loss and meal replacement products and whey protein isolate (with little fat or carbohydrates) is often the preferred choice. Studies have
found that individuals who combine diets with leucine rich protein foods, like whey protein, and exercise have more lean muscle tissue
and they lose more body fat. As they lose fat their metabolic rate increases and they naturally burn more calories each day.
Another way that whey protein helps manage weight is by promoting satiety, or a feeling of fullness. After consumption you don't feel like you need
to be eating as frequently, this in turns reduces the number of calories which you consume each day.
return to questions
Q: If I'm lactose intolerant should I avoid Pure Nutrition's protein powders?
Individuals who are lactose intolerant should select Pure Nutrition's
whey protein isolate,
which has less than 0.15 grams of lactose per tablespoon (20 grams). This is less lactose than the amount
found in a cup of yogurt and research has shown that most people with lactose intolerance have no trouble
taking this very small amount of lactose.
return to questions
Q: Are Pure Nutrition's protein powders a good choice for vegetarians?
Yes, Pure Nutrition's whey protein is an excellent choice for vegetarians who include dairy products in their diet.
return to questions
Q: Do Pure Nutrition's protein powders contain gluten or wheat protein?
Pure Nutrition's whey protein does not contain any gluten or wheat protein.
