Vegetable - Runner Bean - Scarlet Emporer

Phaseolus coccineus

This is a great variety of Runner Bean that can grow to 7ft tall and needs supporting. This is a early variety that is still very popular. The beans have great flavour and appearance. It is often used for exhibitions.

Sow the seed indoors from mid April ready to plant after the last frost. The seed can been sown in situ form May onwards. Generally allow 22cm between canes and 60cm between rows using canes to support the plants as they grow. To get a good harvest keep the plants well watered and feed on a regular basis. If you sow in situ plant some extra seed to fill gaps

This seed has been Thiram treated to avoid damping off
