This reprint is taken from the Ordnance Survey one inch map 85 as revised in 1896. The map shows the around and to the north of Manchester . On the reverse is a large scale plan of the village of Birch, together with an introduction on the history of the area byChris Makepeace. The Directory extracts are from Kelly's Directory of theLancashire 1918.
