This is a 3/4 size Maidstone Violin, which needs some work to get it playing. The general structure of the violin appears sound with no obvious cracks or splits. The pegs all match and look fine as is the end button. The soundpost is in position. The varnish is original and though most of it is covered there are a few patches of wear and odd scratches, pretty much what you'd expect of a violin of this age. There is no case or bow and the violin will need a tailpiece, bridge and strings to get it to playing condition. Maidstone violins where imported from Northern Europe by John Murdock at the beginning of the last century to provide instruments for the Maidstone School Orchestra project. They are generally well made instruments and often better than the modern Chinese imports of today. There is no reserve and a low starting price. Good luck with your bidding.
