SUPER ANTIQUE VICTORIAN STRIPPED PINE BOX TRUNK COFFER

  Victorian Pine Box

Dating to the last quarter of the 19th century, this box is in good strong condition and ready for another 100 + years of use. Standing on a plinth, the box benefits from having it's original blacksmith made iron carry handles and brass hinges. The lock is in place but the key is not present. To the front of the box is the original brass key hole escucheon.

The box has been very well constructed with hand cut dovetail joinst and to the inside there is a candle box complete with hinged lid.

There has been a small amount of insect attack as shown in the photos, but this has all beeen sprayed with a 5 star 30 year treatment to make sure there are no unwanted guests.

The box is has recently been stripped and polished with 3 coats of wax giving it a warm honey patination.

The box measures;

37 inches wide

19 inches deep

17 inches high.
