The price is for 1 set of plastic patchwork templates that fit together. The shapes are based around the hexagon and each has an inner and an outer edge. The inner edge is your seam line, or the size you would cut you papers, if you prefer to work over papers. The outer edge is the size you should cut your fabric.

There are 7 shapes in the pack:

  • The large hexagon measures 2" along each edge, just under 4" across the widest point and just under 3.5" from flat edge to flat edge
  • The small hexagon measures 1 and a quarter inches along each edge, 2 and a half inches across its widest point and just under 2 and a quarter inches from flat edge to flat edge
  • The diamond is a 60 degree diamond which means that you can piece 6 together to make a star, 3 will make tumbling blocks - ise a light fabric, a medium and a dark - and in pairs they will make tessellating chevrons. Each finished side measures 2" which means that it fits the edge of the large hexagon
  • The small diamond has an edge that measures 1 and a quarter inches which means it fits the small hexagon
  • The triangle in the pack is an equilateral triangle which means that each edge measures exactly the same. The equilateral triangle is a sixth of a hexagon. The edge on the largest one measures 4". This triangle will fit multiples of sjhapes in the pack to make ever more intricate designs
  • The medium sized triangle measures 2" along each side which means that it fits with the large hexagon and the large diamond
  • The small triangle measures 1 and a quarter inches along each edge which means that it fits with the small hexagon and the small diamond

Just this pack of shapes alone will give you umpteen different designs.
