The RDR-HXD860 removes the hassle of recording through touch-button selection on the Electronic Programming Guide (EPG). It lists TV and radio shows eight days in advance, allowing you to record, even if you're away from home.
Programmes with regular broadcast times, such as the Ten o'Clock News or Eastenders, can be recorded daily or weekly, without having to programme each individual show. This is particularly useful if the demands on your day mean you're never sure when you're going to be in front of the TV.
All TV shows are transmitted with series ID numbers. The RDR-HXD860 uses this information to record an entire TV series from one episode selection. Series Recording is set-up to record and store every subsequent show in the series, without repeats.
If your show is interrupted, Split Recording links the two parts to make sure you don't miss the second half. This feature comes into its own when a news bulletin splits a film in two.
Start watching a programme before recording has finished and catch up to Live TV through Chasing Playback. With the ability to skip scenes (and ad breaks), using fast playback with sound, you can return to real-time TV and watch when you're ready.
