Malachite is a green copper carbonate hydroxide. Mined in the Sinai desert as early as 3000BC it is probably one of the earliest sources of copper. It name comes form the Greek for “mallow” which is a reference to its leaf-green colour. It is usually found in a form not unlike a cauliflower, encrusted masses known as botryoidal malachite, which is often banded in various shades of green. It is highly prized as an ornamental material and gemstone.

Malachite is a powerful healing stone, amplifying both positive and negative energies. It grounds spiritual energies onto the planet. It has a strong affinity with nature and the devic forces.
