I pack the incenses in self-seal bags because this saves money on post and packing.You do not pay for the jar or the postage on the wieght of the jar. You just get high quality incense made by a very experienced Third-Degree Wiccan who has been making incense for many years.

To burn incense on charcoal, it is best to use swift light charcoal. Hold the disc in a pair of tongs and apply a flame to the surface of the disc. The disc will begin to sparkle and splutter. You may require more than one attempt to succeed. When the sparkling has ceased place the disc into an incense burner (thurible) into which you have placed an insulating layer of sand. A layer of grey ash will slowly cover the disc and at this point you can place a pinch of incense into the depression in the charcoal disc. DO NOT smother the disc or it will GO OUT. If necessary replenish the incense from time to time. BE CAREFUL burning charcoal gets exceedingly hot! The burner will get hot!! The surface the burner stands on will get hot!!! Traditionally the burnt out charcoal and ash is disposed of in running water. Today, down the sink or the W. C. is the best place. Seemingly burnt out charcoal may easily set fire to a waste bin if care is not taken. SO TAKE CARE.
