for auction i have this genuine what i believe is watercolour, which has been done by a 3 year old boy. in what i believe is the original frame. as the back does not appear to have ever been touched, as can be seen from the photo.the frame measure 16 cm width by 20 cm depth. the picture is 9 cm wide by 12 cm depth. on the front of the painting it is dated 1798. on the back it says it has been done by robert ward aged 3 years and also dated 1798 . there is a lot more writing relating to his family. but it is difficuilt to tell what it says as the writing is set in old english.there is a possibility it has been done by a crayon. but under close examination i have been told it is more likely to be a water colour.as there is glass over the painting  either way it has genuinly been done by a boy aged 3 in 1798. the painting can only be described as superb for someone of this age to have done it. very good luck with your bidding. it has been a talking point amongst people visiting my house for the last 20 years. and i hope it will give the lucky bidder, the same enjoyment in the future. best of luck with your bidding. any question i will try to answer as well as i can.
