all items will usually be packaged in NUTTALLS of CHESTER Ltd brand packaging and will be further packaged for delivery.

all items delivered to a UK address will usually be sent using 'OUR STANDARD RATE', currently 'Royal Mail Special Delivery' and charged at their current rate, 'First Class Standard Delivery' or 'Recorded Delivery', depending upon your chosen method in checkout. Items delivered outside the UK will be dispatched using either 'Royal Mail Small Packets' or 'Royal Mail Airsure'. Our 'FREE' delivery option will include 'Royal Mail Special Delivery' or 'Royal Mail Airsure'. Only 'Royal Mail Special Delivery' and 'Royal Mail Airsure' will include their comprehensive insurance and tracking facility (accessable via the Royal Mail website) while in transit and is the only method we recommend.

'Special Delivery' and 'Airsure' dispatched items will need to be signed for by the recipient. Should this prove problematic please contact us for alternative arrangements. If you request the goods to be sent by 'First Class Standard', 'Air Mail Small Packets' or any other method that does not have insurance or tracking, NUTTALLS of CHESTER Ltd will not accept responsibility for the delivery of the goods or any damage to the goods in transit.

They are faceted and finished to the very highest standard, and are guaranteed to give a lifetime of pleasure. Although not necessary for proof of authentication and not a requirement by law, many of our diamond-set products are supplied with independent and official certification documents, such as EGL (European Gemmological Laboratory), GIA (Gemological Institute of America), or Anchor (Birmingham). hallmarking? for your protection, all our items are hallmarked in accordance with UK law. Hallmarks are small markings stamped on gold, silver and platinum articles. A hallmark means that the article has been independently tested and guarantees that it conforms to all legal standards of purity (fineness). These tests are carried out only by an Assay Office, of which there are four in the UK - London, Birmingham, Sheffield and Edinburgh. The Hallmarking Act 1973 changed on 1 January 1999 and allows articles of higher and lower standards of fineness to be sold. This brings UK law into line with European law. Consumers may now chose from a much wider range of goods but continue to benefit from the same level of protection. It is illegal for any trader to sell or describe a precious metal as gold, silver or platinum unless it is hallmarked. Gold articles weighing less than 1 gram, silver articles weighing less than 7.78 grams and platinum articles weighing less than half a gram are exempt from hallmarking. All our sterling silver jewellery is stamped with the fineness mark 925 which guarantees that the jewellery you are buying is of the highest quality and complies with current hallmarking law.

repairs and alterations? using our own highly skilled and experienced jewellers, we carry out work in platinum and silver as well as in all purities of gold. Our service ranges from a simple ring re-sizing or chain repair to the alteration or complete rebuilding of your treasured items, including supplying diamonds and other precious stones if required. We can also re-string your pearls, with or without securing knots between each pearl.

all work is guaranteed against 'normal' wear and tear for a period of 12 months.

engraving? for pewter products our diamond-cut work includes text up to 200 characters at £5, Logos £7 per unit and artwork upon application.
