My name is Rob and I am the man behind an extremely popular Game Gear site which I am presently updating (see my Ebay 'Me' page) I am auctioning two PERFECT CONDITION Game Gear game consoles that REQUIRE REPAIR. The problem is that when you turn them on, the red power light flashes and then they turn off again. I bought these consoles because of the amazing condition: 1) The screen on one is in NEAR NEW condition and UNMARKED. The screen on the other is also NEAR NEW - both consoles would be great for replacement screens. 2) The consoles casing itself on both consoles is UNMARKED and again NEAR NEW. 3) The battery covers and serial numbers are UNMARKED and again in NEAR NEW condition. 4) Both consoles have the RARE straps that are often lost and not included. These consoles are perfect for anyone with a bit of time and a soldering iron. I wanted to repair these myself so that I had two perfect consoles but due to the lack of time, they are remaining wasted on me so I have decided to sell them. Starting bid of 99p! A bargain for someone. Repairing the consoles is easy if you follow the following instructions. Please take a look! GG-Capacitor Information Years ago, a particular electronic component used in various parts of the internal circuitry - the SMD (surface mount) electrolytic capacitor - was a common cause of camcorder faults. Now, as the Game Gear ages, they too are suffering from this bad capacitor phenomenon. * no sound, low sound or crackly sound
* a dim screen unless viewed at an angle. * bright parts of the picture creating 'ghost lines' in the dark parts. * smudgy screen lacking in contrast. * power cutting out (the problem with these two items) The refurbishment pack from Console World enables you to fix these problems yourself and is available at However, it is of course also possible to go out and purchase the capacitors yourself at a much lower cost. Here are some very useful webpages to help you to do it alone: Tim Worthington's screen fix guide is available at ALSO Ky Crout's sound fix guide is available at Neil's 8bitplus sound fix guide is available at FINALLY The above screen refurbishment guide and also sound fix guides are available on my website at :- NOTES These items will be well packaged and posted anywhere worldwide. I always check item weight on the Royal Mail website and then fairly round up the cost to cover packaging. I NEVER use Postage and Packing to make a profit. Therefore, due to the combined weight, postage for this auction is: £4.99 in the UK Please bid with confidence!
