DESCRIPTION:
This is a lovely ARTS & CRAFT mahogany bureau. It has been made in the most wonderful ARTs and CRAFT style and has two lovely stained glass doors.
 
If we start at the top it has a lovely shaped upstand. Below this are two stained glass doors with a small cubby hole to the centre. There are then two drawers below this. As you move down there is a shelf which has supports and nicely shaped trims to the top.
 
In front of this is the fall which lays flat with a large drawer below. The bureau is very clever in design as the large drawers pulls out as the support for the writing fall and the front edge of the drawer is finished in fabric to cushion the fall. The fall is also fitted with a green fabric.
 
Then finally three is a nicely shaped shelf to the base of the bureau / desk. The sides are beautifully shaped and fretted as can be seen from the photographs.
 
The workmanship in this is very good with lovely fine dovetail joints to the drawers, as can be seen from the photographs.
 
This bureau would look fantastic in any room you choose to place it in, and the condition of this bureau is very good.
 
DIMENSIONS:
The approximate dimensions are:
- 26.5 inches wide.
- 15.5 deep.
- 55.5 inches high.
- 29.75 inches to to of fall
 
As can be seen from the above dimensions this bureau is of lovely proportions.
 
AGE:
This bureau is from the ARTS and CRAFT period.
 
CONDITION:
The bureau is in nice condition there are minor knocks / marks commensurate with age, as you will see from the photographs.
 
Overall it is a wonderful antique ARTS & CRAFT bureau, and would grace any home, not only is this a lovely piece of furniture but it is very particle too, so happy bidding. If you have time, please check out my other items!
