brass lens , possibly off a magic lantern , it has a knurled knob which when turned  adjusts the focusing , i think the lens must unscrew to clean it , it looks as though it could do with a clean inside ,size approx 3" high x 3" diameter at base , front of lens measures 2" there is no name on this item .
