Beautiful 1973 4001 bass. Serial # MF 2281. All pot codes date to 1973. Checkerboard binding. Toaster pickup. Grover "wavy" tuners. OHSC. Plenty of life left on the frets. Bass is used, not abused! .....neck is fine, etc. Sounds great, plays great, looks great.
Things to mention, above and beyond how great the bass is, how playing it will make you famous, how cool the checkerboard binding is, how this particular bass is the best bass ever made by Rickenbacker, how you will probably not find another instrument that plays this nicely....you know, everything everyone on eBay seems to tell you.....etc etc.....
1) minor touch up paint has been applied around the edges, and a little bit on the back. 2) I bought this years ago from a local musician, a woman who played in an all-girls band in SF. She went to a Danelectro bass....go figure! Anyway, she had the stereo out jack disconnected, as she didn't ever use it, she only used the mono out. Most people don't use the stereo out. I've got the jack, and it will be included in the sale, so if you want to re-attach it, you can. See photos for jack and the pots/wiring. 3) that's it
If you want a bass with a "wow" factor, here it is. You will look very cool onstage with this fine axe! |
