suzuki sj 413 samurai soft top, f reg 1989
i have owned this jeep since april 2005,when it was m.o.t'd in september 2004 it had 32445 miles on (probably been round clock so 132445...?)it now only has 36203 so it shows i have hardly used it.i have the last 3 mot's to proove milage
i think the front axle is bent slightly as it has a bit of negative camber,it is common for this to happen,a second hand axle is supplied in the sale..axle is complete with c.v's hubs and brakes.
m.o.t. til 24th october,no tax
fitted with 1.6 8v vitara engine with power steering conversion ! using vitara p.a.s pump, pipes and fluid reservoir, suzuki jimny steering box!when i fitted these in november time last year it had a new water pump, timing belt and p.a.s. belt
engine runs and sounds great but sometimes it doesnt idle very good.i think the carb could do with being tuned as they are common for not running right or you could fit an S.U carb conversion..?
it has an electric fuel pump with a on off switch on dashboard.
there is no ignition barrel, but i have keys for the doors, the ignition and starter are on separate toggle switches
it has a janspeed 4 branch manifold,reciept for £160
replaced sump gaskit recently
electric fan,manual switch on dash
fitted with 195/15 colway mud tyres.all have excellent tread as i never used them (i had others).even has one as a spare.
it has a Spring Over Axle lift with longer shockers all round, newish leaf springs (front 2 are SMJ ones, were replaced 2 years ago but not yet bed in as i've done little milage, rear 2 replaced within the last 6 months Pro Comp ones)longer braided stainless steel brake hoses, longer Pro Comp U bolts and i also strengthend the leaf spring mount plates.
all the wheel arches and sills have been cut out and re made/welded (due to rust).the other common rust places have also been welded up.i strengthend the sills with angled steel and covered with chequer plate and are now jackable.fully undersealed/shultzed underneath.no rot or rust anywhere
it has rubber extended arches to catch the mud.not really needed with the wheels on it now but i did have 205/80/16 bronco diamond back tyres with spacers.it looks a lot better with larger/wider wheels and tyres.see pic
heavy duty box section bumpers welded to chassis, these are also jackable
the fuel tank is mounted in rear for more ground clearence.original fuel filler in rear quarter panel welded up.
interior stripped out,Astra GTE Recaro seats fitted, front doors, rear inner arch panels and rear door all chequer plated.
front washers/wipers re wired onto toggle switches on dash,it has FIAT washer jets in bonnet that i fitted myself that are a lot more effective than original ones.(4 jets of water per washer jet) other toggle switches on dash for extra lights (PLEASE NOTE FRONT CIBIE SPOTS + ROOF LIGHTS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN SALE!)
rear lights re located to rear door up out of the way, these have been re wired.used trailor board type lights, spot light on toggle switch.
the jeep has been painted with hamerite using a roller.ok its not the best way to get a good finish but its an off roader thats going to get scratched and banged about.the paint job looks ok though and is easy to touch up if it gets marked.
it has a snorkel, the mushroom top was bought for it but i made the rest myself, its very effective and works and looks great.very water/air tight
there are one or two dents on the jeep but its an off roader, what do you expect...?in one pic you can see where i recently tapped a tree but its nothing major!
there is a new fast back type roof on the jeep cost £170 in november, its like new!receipt to proove.
the jeep will probably need to be trailered away as it has no tax and it has been stood for a few months with no use.although everything works fine.it is an off roader so i wouldnt recommend driving it a long distance.
i have some receipts for the jeep dating back to when i first had the jeep until a few months back.totalling to about £700.
i have tried to be as honest as i can with my description,i have tried to remember everything i can,but possibly forgot a few things.i'll ad them later if there is anything. i have spent loads and loads of hours working and restoring this sj.its a very capable off roader.it looks a bit wimpish with the 195/15 tyres on but i had 205/16 diamond backs with spacers and it did look a lot better with these on but these are not included in the sale!
i reserve the right to end auction at any time as its advertised elsewhere!
any questions feel free to ask, jeep is available to veiw at anytime before bidding ends (at my convenience)
no part x! cash on collection only!!
i have fitted a switch for the electric fuel pump and it also has whats known as a "clicky starter fix".basically it by passes the original starter wiring and uses a relay wired directly off the battery to a switch and to the starter motor.using thicker wire.the jeep had a flat battery but after having the jump leads on it for about 10 minutes it fired straight up and was ticking over lovely.it now starts on first push of the button with no probs.
i have adjusted the clutch and it is no longer slipping,i took it for a little run up and down the lane a few times to make sure everything is ok.
i'd also like to add that the 2 and 4 wheel drive system all works fine, and selects ok.no knocks or rattles etc.it has propshaft spacers front and rear.it has new pads in the front also
JEEP TO BE COLLECTED WITHIN 5 DAYS OF AUCTION ENDING
