Hello and welcome to my auction.
this car was mot'ed TODAY so has 12 MONTHS MOT on the 22nd july 2008, which should stop most of your worries about these cars!! no tax though i'm afraid but a post office is just down the road so can be sorted easily enough.
cheap off roading (or taking kids to school) for a year
General info - we have had this beast for 2 years and we love it!! originally i bought it for my girlfriend as she didn't like her nissan micra and wanted something different and over time (about 3 days!) i grew to love it and have had many an awesome afternoon offroading with mates in the sun! brilliant! i was even stoppped a supermarket carpark once to be asked if i would help test run an off road track before the competition as they needed something capable. and yes it is very capable!! this thing goes everywhere with ease! i wish i had some pics of it off roading but i lost my phone unfortnately. all work was done by the previous owner who had a few off roaders and we've simply used it as it is.
reason for sale - unfortunatey i have to commute 100 miles a day and my car really is my pride and joy (8 year full resto) but it is old and just wouldn't last and petrol is killing me so we've had to buy a dull economical new car. so we've had to made a decision to sell the truck. both of us are gutted! by money is the problem as always!!
good bits -
shackle lift - 2 iches i think, may be 3 though? look at the pics
flipped wheels - basically on back to front to widen the track. done well though as new holes have been drilled on the outside for the valves. have been like it for 4 years with no problems with 195 conway trax tyres -big, grippy and knobbly! dunlop spare included but just not in the picture (has a cover too. normally hangs on the rear door but i changed over the wheels the other day) 2 brand new tyres on front (cost £90), one probably could do with being replaced (£45). i would use it, but i'd worry about my missus using it as its a bit split.hence the swop fo the spare.
3 inch wider axles - due to being a samurai
wide arches - due to being a samurai
suzuki swift seats fitted - fully functioning
heavy duty tow rope - aparently from a lorry!! shackes and all.
rear seats removed - more space for stuff!! - seat belts still there if you wanted to put seats back in.
front bumper removed to aid clearance, light relocated on bar behind
rear bumper ends cut off and welded over to stop them catching on stuff
rear lights changed for trailer lights as previous owner got sick of 'squashing' and smashing the lights inside the bumper
tow bar. - electrics will probably need attention as i've never tested it
foot well tubs - basically foot mats with sides to stop mud getting everywhere. pretty nifty!
front section of carpet removed to stop it getting covered in mud!
radio cassette player - many sj's don't seem to have them!
spot lights - working
over ride fan - not sure on details but previous owner fitted it. its a yellow fan and there is a switch inside to turn it on as engines can get hot when off roading - i've never had to use it though, but it does work
transit battery - its massive!! no more dead battery's
tool box in engine bay on pass side, no tools in it though as taking them out, but very handy.
doors are rust free
bull bars to stop front getting bumped!
pop out rear windows - not sure if there all like this though
ALL transmission works perfectly including tranfer box and FREE HUBS.
new windscreen wiper blades last year
previous owner (2 years) said he'd just put a new clutch in (but no proof, bt he seemed honest!)
i have the v5
serviced about a year ago, but has only done about 500 miles since then so probably won't need doing for a while
you can even have the fancy box i keep in the back to put stuff in
includes small spade that came with the truck when we got it
some of the best graffic ever! and it apears have original paint all over so doesn't have odd panels
bad bits - please bear in mind this IS an off roader so is never going to be mint! it has small dings and dents but nothing big at all. it has rust on the wheel arches as well as here and there (see pics mainly bonnet), but was mot'ed yesterday so is stucturally sound and is purely cosmetic. the bonnet has had aluminium plates put over it (didn't know if its good or bad really, looks cool!, but not original) front sidelight took a smack! its been gaffa taped up and is fine, but worth mentioning. sunroof leaks so needs attention. oil leak on engine at the rear, this can be seen in the photo. its never bothered us though but you may decide to fix it. expansion bottle fell off when i was offroading so did a temporary repair with a cola bottle. i never got round to replacig it! whoops. it works fine as it is though but should be sorted really (probably £5 for one off ebay). no headlining. door cards are a bit worst for wear, but still there and clipped on. rear heated window clips needs re attaching. fuel gauge stops working when you turn on the headlights, so just a bad earth somewhere. gear box has play in selector, probaly an easy fix, but we've always used it like this. i honestly think this is everything, which is not that bad really.
basically its an awesome car which is great fun! it is a bit rough round the edges, but it means you can just off road it properly without worrying about scratching it! we'll be sad to see it go.
as always, you bid to buy, not to view. no haggling, no turning up and saying it wasn't as described (i've been as honest as possible, check my feedback). i highly recommend viewing first as it is an off roader and is not comparible to a normal car in terms of condition. as far as off roaders go it seems a pretty good one though.
good luck. i hope it goes to a good home, any questions please ask. to arrange viewing please message me and we can arrange it
collection within a week please or i'll leave bad feedback and contact ebay. cash on collectio prefered
car is in plymouth.
