Hello!
This lovely little clock measure 6 ft 3 ins tall by 19.5 inches at the widest point, so will fit easily into most homes. The case is very substantial and heavier than most, being made of solid oak. there is NO woodworm or traces of it.You will see from the pictures that there is some superb carving and other details such as the "teardrops" and dentil cornice under the hood.Note also the sound frets on the hood sides(which are perfect).
The hood slides of to gain access to the movement and the trunk door opens to reveal the brass bobbed pendulum. The door has it's original working lock and key.
The three train movement is of good quality with solid pinions etc., and plays westminster chimes on the quarter hours - just like Big Ben.It then strikes the appropriate number on the hour.
The dial is of very good quality and has a matted centre. It has a separate chapter ring and most unusual spandrels or corner pieces, together with a boss in the arch bearing the logo "Tempus Fugit".These details are engraved as opposed to being transfer printed, which is often the case. The hands are very fine and of an unusually intricate design
The clock is working impeccably, with the chimes in the correct sequence
The above is an honest description of an honest clock. If you have any questions or require furthr pictures, please ask.You are very welcome to come and have a look. On the other hand, i will deliver and set up the clock should you wish for £75 within a 50 mile radius of buckingham.
