on this occasion i want to start with saying..........................what a nice old tribal basket this is!

really old tribal item here, that i think is either tribal indian or perhaps tibet, but that is only a guess.

this hand woven basket has loops to three sides, which would have had a rope through them at one point to allow the user to have the basket to his or her side.

these baskets i think were used generally but some were used by snake performers to keep their snake in.

the inner lid was an ideal means of keeping the light out and the snake in i have been told.

that may be well and good, but this basket is i feel an ideal item for any collector oif tribal items.

no damage at all which i find amazing understand how old the item is.
