All door knobs, handles, escutcheons, fingerplates, door bells, etc are made from solid unlacquered brass - they are exact reproductions of the original antiques in style, size & weight; all are hand finished to the highest standard by skilled craftsmen.  Wooden items are from durable hardwoods - the black woods are virtually indistinguishable from the original ebony.
