Important...If you buy 5 mm thick gloves, they are very difficult to move your fingers in, and are not that much warmer anyway than 3 mm. 
The neoprene does compress when you dive, so becomes a little more pliable, but never enough to make the easy to feel through ,
same applies to Kevlar gloves, they are almost impossible to work with...so if you do suffer from cold, then try 5 mm , but  its better t
o have a little discomfort with cold hands and still be able to control what you are doing, than no feeling !  ask someone..its your hands! 

TIP...You can also try using gloves from the diesel pump at petrol stations as a liner first before you put your gloves on...that works
well too as an extra barrier without loosing feeling
