A beautiful old fan that I believe dates to the C19th, probably circa 1890. The sticks and guards are wood pierced and carved with scrolls and flowers. I am not sure what the wood is but it may be sandalwood. The leaf is green silk. The sticks are held together with a gilt brass hook with mother of pearl ends. The wood is in good condition with just one little slice missing from the end of one guard stick (see photo), and the green silk has torn at one end (see photo). The fan measures 9 1/2" long when closed and 18" across when open.

- Due to a bizarre shift in eBay policies, ALL PARCELS WILL NOW ONLY BE SENT BY RECORDED AND TRACKED DELIVERY. I apologise for the increase in postal charges that you will suffer, but my hands are tied on this one. As far as I can see, no-one benefits from this ill thought out change, and if you feel like complaining to eBay, then please do ( I already have ! (for all the good it does !)).
- I will always endeavour to combine shipping costs but once the weight exceeds 2 Kgs for international delivery it has to be posted by the more expensive Parcelforce or other courier.
- International Airmail deliveries take approx. 5 - 7 days, International Surface Mail deliveries take approx. 45 - 50 days.
- Packaging will be charged at £1 per parcel for all deliveries, this is included in the shipping costs quoted below. Multiple purchases will save on costs.
