Apocryphal compositions of the religious-moral contents which often went in manuscripts, especially among old believers had the big distribution. In connection with the apocrypha "About Noi an ark" there is a story "About intoxicated drink, from what ustavisja gorelnoe wine dushegubnoe. Bratie, listen this christian message and understand, that intoxicated drink from the evil spirit is created on pagubu to souls orthodox hristijanskom and on an eternal torment". When the satan has seen, that by the ground the christian teaching widely extends, he has called on advice of evil spirits, and "nachasha z evil spirits the besedovati, kako ulovity a sort human drunkenness", - so this story begins.

The "Strong" evil spirit has told to a satan: "remains toe grasses that is has seduced Noevu the wife... I go nowadays on her and prelschu the person, him obrjashu". The satan with all evil spirits has bowed to him, has rendered to him honour and praise and has named him "the drunk evil spirit".
This story has received special distribution in the end XVII and in XVIII century at old believers where to it following final words have been added: "And priide pianoe drink on demise of this century and to us, in Russian country, on perdition to souls Christian and on a torment eternal. Then priide in Russian country malicious abuse abusive on defiling of the ground and air and vseja creatures. Then priide in Russian country antihristvo drink dry" (t. e. Tobacco). In XVIII century of the story about the wine forbidden at old believers, tobacco, tea, coffee and, at last, a potato have merged in one group of the legends, described similar composite receptions.

Smoking of tobacco in an old believe society was in every possible way pursued and stopped. "Who from orthodox christians derznete piti tobacco, yes will be prokljat". With tabakurom "to not pray, not is, to not drink, wherefore he was betraid in hands of evil spirits gloomy. When will die, coffin to him not davati, but to throw in a hole or a ravine on eating up to beasts".
