With every monthly section of the course you will find a video guitar lesson.

The video guitar lesson is short and to the point and demonstrates techniques and solutions to problems which might arise whilst you are studying your weekly guitar lessons. Some things can be more easily learned in video format.

All the lessons have a 'hear this played' button which can be clicked to hear the exercise or tune played slowly and clearly.

The e-books provided with the course are in Adobe Acrobat PDF format and can be printed out using any A4 printer. By providing them as e-books we have ensured that you don't end up paying postage for heavy books, and you can print exactly what you need.

There are a total of 14 e-books provided with this unit of the course. One for each of the twelve months, an index, and a reference e-book with all the important chords, scales and explanations.

The printable PDF e-books provided with the course were written especially for the course, and are supported by the multimedia material. This is handy if you'd like to practice your guitar away from your computer.

The e-books with this course, offer another way to learn the guitar, you can either use them with the guitar course CD-ROM or separately.

Guitars and accessories

The Guitars menu is a guide to guitar parts. In order to provide a complete guide we have used a spectrum of guitars, a classical, a folk, an electro-acoustic, s semi-acoustic, and a solid electric guitar.

A more detailed description of the job of the various parts of a guitar is also given, and a guide to the special effects, amplifiers, strings and plectrums.

Interactive chord chart

The interactive chord chart and scale charts in this unit go into far greater depth than charts in Unit one. They also contain more chords and scales than you will need for this unit. However by the time you have completed this unit your independence as a guitarist should be at a level where you are teaching yourself new tunes and techniques.

The neck guide

The neck guide contains a chord guide and an interactive guide to the neck. Simply select the key you want to play in and the scales (modes or blues), and the neck guide displays all the possible scales you can use. This is ideal for guitarists who want to improvise in various keys.

The neck guide is provided as a stand alone application which also contains all the scale charts and the chord chart. This is an invaluable reference source, if you are intending to experiment with improvisation and song writing in different keys and positions around the neck.

Printable PDF e-books

Like unit one unit two has a printable PDF file for each monthly set of lessons. Because many of the lessons are more detailed and will take more time for you to study and practice to get perfect, the PDF e-books in this unit are even more essential than in unit one. You also get an e-book of theory and an e-book of blank chord, scale and tab paper, for your own studies and notes.

With these two CD's you can't fail to learn to play the guitar like a master.

GCH Guitar Academy was established in 1992, however the founder Gareth Hargreaves had been teaching, and playing in bands and as a studio artist since the 1980's. The course was developed to teach individuals, school classes and groups how to play the guitar. The course was developed because the commercially available material was and is so poor.

Combining the GCH Guitar Academy guitar course material with new multimedia technology, has produced a multimedia guitar method that cannot be beaten. We originally intended to pass the multimedia course on to a publisher to take over the sales and distribution. However we have remained the sole distributors of the course giving us the ability to provide far more personal customer support.

The multimedia course is now well established, having sold thousands of copies worldwide and having been featured in a number of high profile magazines, and the course continues to grow and improve.
