Fabulous Victorian solid oak staircase dating from circa1895.

You are viewing a solid oak full staircase with barley twist balistrade and 35 foot of landing handrail.

The staircase has a single 90 degree turn to the left at the bottom of the stair with a further 2 steps 180 degrees from the top of the stairs.

The staircase has a total rise of 11ft 5 inches, it has a total going (the floor space required)12 foot 7 inches and the first section before the main flight has a rise of 30 inches so the staircase could easily be shortened to fit a lower floor to landing height.

The staircase has a total of 18 steps which are 13 steps on the main flight inc the top step, 2, 45 degree steps and 3 steps on the bottom section.

The stairs come complete with a 14ft length of balastrade and handrail on the main flight, a 9ft run on the main landing, a 6ft 9 inch run on the end of the landing and a 40 inch run to the left at the top of the stairs, the balastrade includes 64 barley twist spindles and 7 gothic newel posts (inc 1 half newel), it also includes the solid oak timbers that the spindles fit into around the landings and also the carved cover strip that covers the nails and fixing screws.

The staircase has full oak steps and risers, it has been dismantled for transit, the stair treads have been dismantled into 3 sections for transporting, the top step bottom steps have been broken and will require repairing, the wall side stringer has a metalplate on the wall side around 2ft from the top to give added strength as there is a crack in it. 

The staircase has been recently removed from a large gothic mansion in Lancashire that was built in 1895 that is due to be demolished, I have full provenence and history that will be supplied to the buyer.

The staircase is ready for collection, the buyer is to collect from near Blackburn in Lancshire or it can be delivered locally for the cost of fuel.
