faulty ipod classic 20gb white

not sure whats wrong with it but cant get it to turn on, only time anything comes up is when you plug it in to charge it from mains, apple logo shows then goes off

i have tried to switch on while it charges and apple logo flashes up then a file folder or hard disk logo comes up with a "!" symbol or similar

selling as faulty, have no idea whats wrong

no returns

bought it off someone else hoping to be able to fix it but im not trained so have given up the challenge!

it comes with charger cable for mains and usb only

has scratches/opening marks on it so not wonderful condition please be aware of this

i don't know what generation it is but on back cover it says: A1059
