Probably the most famous umbrella manufacturer worldwide, Fulton of England, was contracted to make it. The Umbrella was never sold and was made only for purchasers of ghd Christmas Gift Boxes in 2004. Never put on retail sale, it is a collector’s item, with a retail value of £125. Nothing gets your pulse racing like a catwalk show: the clothes, the lights, the loud music, the electric atmosphere, the goooorgeous models — and the front-row celebs! ghd created waves at London Fashion Week, helping to launch the Spring/Summer 2005 collection from sensationally hot fashion house FrostFrench. The 1950s retro-inspired catwalk event took place at Marco Pierre White's glamorous Titanic Club in Soho and was followed by the show party at the Café Royal. This was all thanks to ghd’s sponsorship of the fashion design duo, celeb-in-her-own-right Sadie Frost and her childhood friend Jemima French. Since ghd are not ones to do things by halves, they threw in far more than the traditional sponsorship package - and even the coolest front-row fashionistas will have been wowed by the ghd/FrostFrench extravaganza. Before the show, guests were welcomed into ghd's themed 1950s salon for touch-ups to their own 'do', whilst backstage the ghd creative team and James Brown were creating amazing hairstyles for the catwalk models (using ghd’s limited-edition hot pink irons and all of their scrummy hair beauty products). As if being famous weren't fun enough, celebrities always go home from fashion shows with to-die-for freebies — and this was no exception. The likes of Kate Moss, Jude Law, Meg Matthews, Jenny Frost, Gary Kemp, and Tamara Beckwith all left swinging goody bags packed with ghd’s fabulous pink irons, ghd hair beauty products, FrostFrench underwear, vodka, a FrostFrench chocolate treat, and loads more.
