A comic postcard used in 1907 which I rate at 5 out of 10 for quality (dreadful corners and a bit grubby - see scan, fair back). One of Harry Parlett's "The Advantage of Education" series.

HOW WE DESCRIBE OUR POSTCARDS

 It can easily take 10 minutes to describe a postcard with faults, so as from the 1st June 2009 we have started using a grading system which we hope will do the job almost as well, but has the advantage of being faster. A postcard in pristine condition will be awarded 10 pts, those in lesser condition will have 1 pt deducted for each fault - as described below. If a card has more than three faults we will describe them all. Worn corners; wear on the edges; minor creases (major creases count more); a heavily applied postmark where the impression can be seen on the front; being badly aligned when originally cut; surface scratches; foxing/light staining; writing on the front; a grubby look; pinholes; a 'rusty' back (transferrence from an album?); a grubby back; a poorly written message on the back; a message that looks as if it was written in the rain; the stamp has been removed.

 If you buy two, or more lots I will send them together and save you postage, but PLEASE do not pay for them until you get my combined invoice. When you have finished buying, send me an e-mail asking for the invoice.

SHIPPING

All postcards purchased singly are enclosed in a new Polyprotec pocket, 1-6 cards are usually sent in a 'Heavyweight' board backed envelope with extra cardboard to give even more protection, larger quantities are sent in a strong Jiffy bag. We always seal the envelopes/Jiffy bags with extra tape, stamp them with our return address and obtain proof of posting. Insurance is included - if it does not arrive within 14 working days, just write to us (pen & ink variety) and we will refund your payment. We need the letter as proof that the item failed to arrive, and we then use it to pursue Royal Mail and try to recover our loss.

POSTAL CHARGES FOR COMBINED POSTCARD LOTS

 U.K. 1-2 cards - postage as for one postcard; 3-6 cards - add 15p to the postage quoted for one postcard; 7+ cards - £1.50 (1st class), £2.00 (recorded 1st class).

EUROPE: for each extra postcard lot add 7p to the quoted postage

REST OF THE WORLD: for each extra postcard lot add 13p to the quoted postage.
