Report itemclass 5 106 very high spec rear mounted 1400 vauxhall this engine was built and developed for this 2009 season,it has done 9 meatings and has been perfect, jay gibbs has won the class 5 this season with this car,the head was worked by nick waples and has the biggest valves that will fit into a 1400 se head the porting is superb,we fitted a high lift cam on solid lifters and sronger springs.the fly wheel is lightend and balanced with the crank and clutch,it runs on steel rods and forged pistons with a tony law exhaust system.we fuel the engine via a pectel t 2 ecu cosworth fuel pump and fillter, yamaha r1 injection carbs on a bogg manifold,the engine was set up and run on the dino and produced 151 bhp this was all done by Harvey Gibbs my brother at supreme car services, the cosworth race engine builders.we run a f16 gearbox that we have changed some gears around and made a few mods and the car is first out the gate everytime.we use telescopic driveshafts that have never failed in two seasons,rear hubs are ford and bike brakes.it has fox shocks and canisters on the rear large rad and fan with stat.kirky seat with cover,beresford gear shift,hydrolic slave sylinder paddle clutch,five point harness,large recall rev counter and quick release stearing wheel.the front is beresford on vauxhall hubs,avo shocks,bike brakes and quick rack.the suspention is set up spot on and the car was corner weighted at the start of the season hence it handles real good,i think this engine is almost bullet proof,it seems to do its job with ease,the engine makes it best power between 4500 rpm and 8200rpm we have rev limiter set at 8400 rpm so its well save with steel rods and forged pistons.we spent £2300 on the engine £900 on the ecu,carbs,manifold and fuel pump and £250 on the wiring loom.the exhaust system from tony law was £500 so alot spent.as i said this car made club class 5 champ and the nationals this year it is as you see it in the pictures last raced on thr fouth of october,if you want to see the car in actiion go to www.spaldingautograss.co.uk enter site and go to gallery the click on the link www,autograsracing.com 4 th october you will see the car sp55 the one thats always in front ha. ok thats about it if you want a quick competetive class 5 that only needs a small amount of cosmetic work and a bit of paint this will fit the bill. we are only selling as we are changing class.the winning bidder will need to pay a deposit within 24 hours of the end and collect and pay within 5 days,any questions email me thanks and good luck. |
