Undated, But Circa 1896.

The book measures approx, 22cm(8.8") by 28cm(11") and contains approx 320 pages
With approx 20 full page, coloured portraits taken from photographs.

The volumes have been bound with no title pages (as is usual with this publication). Both volumes bear a full index.
The volumes feature biographys of well known and famous figures of the day, such as Longfellow, General Garibaldi, General Grant, Gustave Dore, etc.

The book is fully bound with no loss, and in a VG+ condition.

The half leather binding is lightly edge worn with some surface marking to the facias.
The joints are supple with around 20% cracking in evidence.
  
The leather is not flaking and leaves no marks when placed on cloth.
