After various events in life I have come get rid of yet more of my old and new belongings.
I have used Ebay before and I'm well acquainted with the required packaging standards for U.K. and INTERNATIONAL Ebay members, and the various types of labelling for 'SAFE' packaging that are needed for sending different types of items all over the world.

For Auction today :-

A VERY elegant and rare Majolica / Maiolica Spittoon - Possibly Wedgwood or George Jones c1880 - the greens and browns are very similar to his but they can also be seen on wedgewood and on some continental pieces - a small area of pinkness can just be seen on the inside.

As there are no makers marks I can only go off the style, colour and look of the piece, as shown, to refer to a date and maker.

It's Highly decorative and has fine Rococo molding all the way round.

There is an obvious 'Entry' hole in the top, a 'Drain' hole in the side, and there are three stand points on the base where it would have stood in the kiln.

It has a little light scuffing (minor glaze loss in a couple of small areas) on the outer surface and the tiniest of nicks on the foot rim - so, it's very near to Mint Condition.

It's 8. 1/2" Wide x 3. 1/8" Tall and weighs around 1.35Kg.
