Here is a well made oak cased mantel clock. It has a good quality German pendulum movement. The case is of particularly nicely grained and figured dark oak wood, with a cursive arch top and square sides. There are shallow reeded applications to each side in the Art Deco manner. The heavy quality case is of English oak wood with beautiful figuring to the wood grain. It has a hinged polished brass bezal and convex glass which opens to allow winding with a key. A matt silvered dial shows the hours in arabic numerals, and the pierced hands are blued steel and shaped in the diamond style. There is some small wear and rubbing to the dial and bezal after seventy years of handsetting and winding. The clock movement is in full working order with a strong steady tick and keeping accurate time. Front winding, with key.

Here is the clock, illustrated working above.

It is 10.5" inches (27 cm) wide at the base, 9" inches (23 cm) tall, and only 5" inches (13 cm) in depth. Will easily fit on modern narrow mantelpiece. The polished bright brass bezal is 6.25" inches (16 cm). It has a soft melodious strike on the half hour and fully striking on the hour, on a spiral gong.

This is an example of domestic clock from the period of the 1930's. In excellent working condition.
