A really unusual and very large old Edwardian buckle, c.1910 in date. It is in the form of two large discs of metal (approx. 6cm each, so 12cm log in total), each with a piece of filigree in the centr, set with a disc of smokey mother of pearl, which is set with diamantes and a cut steel in the centre. The metal is copper-coloured, but was originally darkened. The darker finish is wearing off in places, so the copper glows through, and the surface of the metal is a bit scratched and irregular. The cut steels are a bit rusted too, and the overall look is quite worn. Still, an unusual and very large buckle, still quite wearable. Each half has loops to fit a belt 3.2cm wide. Check out my other items for more vintage jewellery, beads and collectables. I'm always happy to combine postage! |
