antique mexican wooden inkwell holder

this is a good old inkwell holder made of painted wood

hand carved in the form of a mexican peasant.

he is wareing basic white clothing with a red

sash around his waist and of course his hat.

it has been well carved showing the creases

in his cloths and rings around his hat. the hat

is on a small hinge and when lifted shows the

round hole for the inkwell. he is sitting on a wooden

plinth and is in excellent condition with no damage

just a bit of ware with age. it stands at 16 cms

 approx with the lid closed. it needs a good cleaning

and has made in mexico on the base. thanks for
