Yttrium

that makes the spark plug extremely effective in minimising wear

Yttrium molecules are positioned
between the chrome-nickel molecules, preventing them from melting
'melting together'. The result being that the substance loss from
the centre electrode throughout the spark plug's service life is
minimal.
As the centre electrode erosion is minimal, the ideal electrode
gap is maintained throughout the service life of the Super Plus
spark plug. This allows cover of several spark plug types (i.e.
with different electrode gaps) by only one Super Plus spark plug,
with its factory pre-set electrode gap.

Bosch Spark
Plug Fitting Guide
It's easy
to check, clean or replace spark plugs, by simply following
these procedures.
1) First
leave the engine to cool
2) Twist
and pull off the spark plug lead. To ensure you don't alter the
firing order we advise you to remove one plug at a time
3)
Slacken the plug and clean the recess if necessary.
4) Screw
in spark plug by hand until it is seated in the cylinder head.
5) New
spark plugs with flat seats are then tightened by a further
approximately 90 using the appropriate spark plug wrench.
6) Spark
plugs with conical seats as well as used spark plugs with flat
seats are screwed in by a further 15 approximately.
7)
Re-attach the spark plug lead.
8) Repeat the procedure for every
plug |
