Zeiss Ikon Contax III and Zeiss Sonnar 50mm f2 lens. This camera is pre-war and dates from about 1938. I’m selling up my camera collection accumulated over the last several decades.
This camera has sat on my display shelves for some time so it’s a bit dusty and I have not used it with film for a long time
but I’ve given it a dry run and it is all still working except …
The exposure meter is not working correctly although it does occasionally respond to light so might well be fixable.
Lens front glass has minor cleaning marks, there is some dust and the front black nose has lost some paint through filter fitting over the years.
None of this should affect photos. Comes with metal lens cap.
It is my intention to sell a decent item at a fair price but please bear in mind that if it is used item it will have seen use and minor imperfections are possible.
Any significant faults I can find will be noted and explained. I do not hide under the “I know nothing about cameras” ruse!
Please ask before you bid if you would like to know anything more about this item. Mail me at
roger@provins.org.uk Or you can visit my web pages at
http://www.provins.org.uk I would rather answer dozens of questions before the sale ends than you get something with which you are less than happy.
