I’m selling up my camera collection accumulated over the last several decades.
This camera has sat on my display shelves for some time so it’s a bit dusty and I have not used it with film for a long time but I’ve just given it a dry run and it is all still working.
Yashica YE with Yashikor 50mm f2.8 Lens.
For the Yashica or Leica clone collector this camera must be about as rare as they get.
This example is in excellent condition and all working. No dings or dents and only few, minor signs, of use. There is no take-up spool but it is very similar to Leica spools so should be easy enough to come by. Comes with original lens cap.
The Yashica YE, is basically a Nicca 33 with a modified top plate, lever wind-on instead of a knob and new badge on front, produced after Yashica took over the Nicca Camera Works. Introduced 1959. the YE was made in the old Nicca factory.
Focal-plane shutter with cloth curtain, speeds B, X, 1/2 - 1/500 sec
Flash sync contact is FP, X sync
Range finder base length is 57mm
Film transport is by the film wind lever on the camera top, ratchet wind, bottom film loading.
Lens mount is Leica 39mm screw-in mount
It is my intention to sell a decent item at a fair price but please bear in mind that if it is used item it will have seen use and minor imperfections are possible.
Any significant faults I can find will be noted and explained. I do not hide under the “I know nothing about cameras” ruse!
Please ask before you bid if you would like to know anything more about this item. Mail me at
roger@provins.org.uk Or you can visit my web pages at
http://www.provins.org.uk I would rather answer dozens of questions before the sale ends than you get something with which you are less than happy.
