Yamaha XT600 XT 600 Tenere supermotard adventure bike

You are bidding on my trusted XT600 Tenere,

I have owned this bike for the last 10 years. Taxed until end july 2010, MOT til August 2010

Equipped with Wide supermotord style 18" Akront Alloy rims and heavy duty spokes, Pirelli MT90 Scorpion tyres.

Fairing is a quality grp aftermarket item <possibly acerbis ?> provides wind protection and a unique look somewhat
 similar to the early 90's yamaha paris-dakar race bikes.

Stock seat has been replaced with a professionally reupholstered item with improved foam and recovered to a high standard.
 very comfy indeed. spare stock seat will be included in sale.

The bike has been serviced by myself &  recently fitted new clutch plates & springs , spark plug, rear wheel bearings,
had the rear wheel respoked, also recently replaced both the exhaust downpipes and the silencer .

600cc single cyl motor pulls very satisfyingly with no undue smokes, flat spots or oil leaks.
Cosmetically, its as you see from the pics, bodywork is far from perfect. a fair amount of spray can paint has been applied over the years,
 a couple of the idiot lights don't work & there are a number of repairs to the wiring loom in the headstock area,
 which could do with tidying up. The frame has been professionally coated < grey >.
The bike has a number of scrapes and scratches in keeping with 20 year old trail bike.

The odometer counter decided to quit turning at exactly 50,000 miles a few months back and thus still reads 50,000
 old MOT certificates reflect the mileage authenticity.
Rear tyre is in good order, loads of life left. the front is well worn & will require replacement soon
chain and sprockets remain serviceable but will require replacement in the nearish future

This IVJ XT6 Tenere was designed with both kick and electric start options, however I have disabled the electric starter
due to a worn starter clutch mechanism. < a common XT problem ) I have since purchased a replacement starter clutch
 and bearing but never actually got around to fitting them, ( bike starts fine on the kick start).
The parts required to fix the electric start - <starter clutch mechanism & bearing> will be included in  sale.

The original yellow fuel tank has leaks but is repairable & is in otherwise good condition. the spare yellow fuel tank ,
 plastics , fender as pictured will be included in  sale.

This Iconic yamaha tenere is a rewarding reliable stylish classy and characterful go anywhere storming big trailie that is fun to ride all day,
 either solo or with pillion. Load it up & it will take serious amounts of luggage with no complaints.


Please note : This is a  tall bike ! I'm 5'9 and it's just about low enough for me to ride safely.
 imo  you will be requiring a decent pair of strong boots to kick start and ride
