Yaka Fetish figures were used by communities, families and individuals to protect against illness or disease, to solve arguments, weaken and destroy evil spirits and oversee contracts. The figure gains its power from the addition of organic materials to the abdomen area. Each figure has a specific purpose which is only known to its owner.
