Yaesu FRG-9600 VHF / UHF Communications receiver, in superb condition with only very minor signs of use.  Fully operational and pictured receiving 97.5 Mhz FM - did this extremely well, without an aerial being used!

Bought by me last month, as I was intending to revive my old hobby of listening to amateur radio.  But - my beloved car has just cost me nearly £500 and I find myself temporarily skint - so, sadly, off it goes.

Has the original box (rather tatty now, but at least the original with the polystyrene packaging) and a typed copy of the original manual.  Comes with the power supply that arrived with it - not a Yaesu original, but a Samsung 14 volt power supply that appears to be a direct equivalent.

This 'frog' appears to have had a switchable modification fitted to it, and a sticker on the back next to a small switch reads "modified by R. Withers Comms Ltd. 584 Hagley Road, West Oldbury, Warley, B68 0BS".  It has been fitted professionally and there are no obvious signs of it having been botched by anyone.  The modification appears to be the HF conversion.  As most people looking at this will be aware, the 9600 had unusual frequency coverage, and for this reason was less than popular, particularly in the USA.  Look at the second picture of the 9600 and it shows it in upper side band mode tuned to 30Mhz - which, when the switch on the rear is moved to its off position, it isn't able to do. Any questions, feel free - but no offers are invited and will be ignored.  The price includes FREE insured delivery by DHL to a Paypal verified address - sorry, NO overseas sales for this item - strictly UK only.  All the best, and thanks for looking.
