The WX11 is a wind systhesizer controller made by YAMAHA which allows a woodwind player to access the world of synthesizer sounds through the expressiveness of a wind instrument. The WX11 is the younger brother of Yamaha's original WX7 controller. This controller does not make any sounds itself, but just generates a MIDI data stream to any external MIDI synthesizer or MIDI tone generator. They are usually played with WX compatible modules (WT-11,VL70-m), but can be used with any Midi device when played through a interface (BT7 or WW-Bat).

If you are keyboard challenged, then a wind controller the WX5, WX11, or WX7 is just the thing for you. In addition to the expected note selection through saxophone fingerings, the WX wind controllers also send MIDI continuous controller information (like pitchbend) through a pressure sensor attached to a steel "reed", and breath control information (like volume) through a blow pressure sensor. The combination of these two continuous controller data streams combine with the MIDI note fingerings to create an expressiveness unmatched by typical keyboards

The WX11 translates fingering, breath and lip pressure to digital signals, enabling it to control any MIDI-equipped tone generator.

Using standard Boehm fingering, the light-action keys will fall naturally under your fingers, and in minutes, you'll feel that you've been always been playing the WX11.

It has a range of over 7 octaves.

Key hold

It allows you to sustain one note while playing phrases over the top of it. Trill keys (1 semi-tone and 1 tone) which work on any note allow for a variety of different fingerings to make your playing easier.

You Don't Have To Be A Technical Genius To Play

You can select performances from the WX11 itself, using a Program Change key in conjunction with the octave keys.
