This is ash wood ,Father of the Woods,the Aeschling..or Ash Man..a generally benevolent wood,a protective wood and a traditional wood for walking sticks because of it's flexibility and ability to bear weight.

This is a fine piece,a classic simple lightweight ash wood walking stick,a wood traditinally chosen for the crafting of walking sticks because of it's flexibility and ability to bear weight.This piece is naturally forked and characteristically gnarled and about as straight as you might wish.

Now ash is quite  aplain wood,but this stick bears the full 24 staves of the Elder futhark running down it's shaft,which turns it from a standard stick into something very different and powerfully magical.the staves are clearly scribed in black pigment strting beneath the forked handel and running about 3/4 of the way down the shaft.The sticj itself has been tipped with a sturdy rubber ferrule.Now the scribing of the stave may not win us any prizes,but thenthis piece was never designed as a work of art,the staves have been scribed by a practising hel-runner..and each stave has been invoked by name according to traditional practises.So this really is a magical stick,scribed with working staves....and not simply an ornamental piece.

This piece measures 41.5ins standing height from the top of the forks to the floor and is,on average 2 1/4 ins in circumference.

This is a tied stick .meaning that the wrist strap is tied to the handel and can easily be removed if not wanted

All of our sticks are handcarfted from the cutting of the wood to the final braiding of the cord and crafted in exactley the same way as our occult wands. Each comes complete with a handbraided wrist cord in emerald green,scarlet red and black and each piece has been weatherproofed with three coats of waterproof varnish yet each piece is still very tactile.

Like all Wyldewood sticks,wands and charms,each piece is totally unique..there are no two the same.
